Terms and Conditions
We ask our new members to read through our guidelines. We hope this creates a clear understanding between the farmers and members.
Overall
A Farm Share from Blue Sky Vegetable Co. follows in a long line of farms who model their sales and production on a “Community Supported Agriculture” or CSA model. This model was originally conceived as a partnership between farm and members. Members would purchase a “share” of the farm prior to the beginning of the season to help shoulder the up-front costs of seed, fertilizer, potting soil, packing supplies, and more. The purchase of shares prior to the season allows members to help shoulder some of the risk that the farmer carries and secure their vegetables for the season. In turn, members receive fresh, seasonal produce from the farm during the season. While we call our program a Farm Share – to highlight that we share risks and successes with our members, as members do with the farm, our Farm Share is built on mutual respect and community between farmer and members.
Our primary mission is to serve you and your family with high-quality produce. However, farming is a risky business and is subject to weather and "act of God" events. In event of failed crops, we will do our best to ensure you still receive the value of your share. Farm shares require "shared risk and shared rewards". While we farm with the intention of sharing the rewards, there are times in the season where members will need to share in the risk as well. On our side, we will communicate openly and honestly with you. We ask for your support in the rewards and the risks.
Box Sizes and Values
We offer three box sizes for you to choose from, depending on your household size and produce consumption. All shares are customizable to ensure that you get the produce you want to enjoy.
Small $20/week| Standard $30/week | Large $42/week
These sizes are converted into items per box:
Small 6-8 items | Standard 8 – 11 items | Large 11-15 items
Our payments and customization are handled by a software called Farmigo. All members will need to create a login with Farmigo in order to manage their balance, customize their weekly share, and put shares on hold.
Members have the option to pay in full or pay in installments. Share sign-ups will be taken until the end of April, unless all available spots fill up before that.
Putting Your Share on Hold
It is easy to manage your account online. If you are going out of town and want to skip your next delivery, you can put a future box on hold by going to your account and clicking on the calendar day you wish to hold. All holds must be placed no later than five days prior to your delivery day. Unfortunately, cancellations the day before delivery cannot be accepted. You can let us know to donate your share or you can have a friend pick up your share to try our farm share out for a week.
Refunds and Credit
By purchasing a farm share, you agree to become a supportive member of our farm and we in turn agree to supply your family with high-quality, organic produce. Farm Shares, once purchased, will not be refunded in full unless it was purchased by mistake, and you contact us at least two weeks before the first share delivery (May 23, 2024). Once the season begins, we are unable to offer refunds. If your family has an emergency or moves away, we can transfer your share to another person or the remaining value of the share will be donated to Feeding South Dakota and/or the Falls Community Health Clinic. If you have special, extenuating circumstances, please email us first.
If you believe you deserve credit for poor quality or damaged produce, please email us. We will evaluate each case individually. In your email, include what day you picked up your produce, how it was stored at your house, and pictures if possible. We strive to grow high-quality produce , so your feedback helps us.
A Farm Share is about commitment our farm and you. The majority of the cost of a share goes toward farm management, operations, and improvement so that we can continually serve our members with produce they can trust.
