Squashin’ Smoothie

Butternut squash in a smoothie? Yes – this smoothie combo is great for boosting winter

immunities and is a sure winner with the younger set.

Ingredients:

 1 cup Peaches (frozen or fresh)

 ½ cup raw Butternut squash

 1-2 Tbsp Hemp seeds

 1 tsp. spirulina

 2/3 -3/4 cup Orange juice

Method:

 Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor.

 Cover and blend until smooth.

Notes and Options:

 Make a smoothie kit in advance by combining all ingredients except to juice in a freezer

safe cup with a lid or a resealable plastic storage bag. Cover or seal, and label. Freeze

up to 3 months.

 Let frozen cup or bag stand 10 minutes, then loosen with thin spatula.

 Place in blender or food processor, add juice, and blend until smooth.

Spirulina will make the smoothie green instead of orange!
